We celebrated the 500th birthday of our Holy Mother St Teresa with a beautiful Mass at 7pm on march 27th, the eve of the great day. Cardinal Vincent Nichols presided and ten priests concelebrated, four of them being our Carmelite brethren. The Chapel was packed and overflowing. Our precious relics of St Teresa were on display: her handwritten vow of obedience to Gracian, five beads from her rosary, and a fragment of her bone. Everyone enjoyed the buffet meal provided in a marquee, the
centrepiece begin St Teresa’s birthday cake!
The preparation for this event was intensive and we are grateful to move into the quiet of Holy Week. You will forgive us if we do not post again until after Easter (the weekly podcasts will resume in Low Week) and so we take this opportunity to wish each of you a grace-filled Sacred Triduum and a truly radiant Easter
