31 Jan Chinese New Year
There are three Chinese sisters in our community – from Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia – and knowing the significance of Chinese New Year in their culture we try to make it a special day for them. They will phone their families, gathered for the traditional big family meal, and they will prepare some Chinese food for us. We are becoming adept with chopsticks!
Please pray for our Chinese sisters, whom God has called to Carmel so far from home. They were, of course, all resident in the UK when they began discerning with us, but by entering Carmel they have generously renounced the likelihood of returning to their homelands. On their behalf we wish you
Gong Xi Fa Cai – Happy New Year.
