30 Nov ADVENT 2019
We are waiting in hope for the blessing which will come with the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour Christ Jesus. (Titus 2:13)In our country we are waiting in hope, praying that the forthcoming election will bring an end to uncertainty and confusion in our fractured society and secure a future that is to the advantage of those most in need.
In our Church we are waiting in hope, praying for the healing of divisions among us, for an end to the sin and scandal of abuse, and for the flourishing of faith in an increasingly secular environment.
In our world we are waiting in hope, praying for an end to war and violence, for justice for the poor and oppressed, and for a responsible concern and care for our earthly home.
While we wait in hope for the coming of our Saviour let each of us, in our own sphere, take the small steps we can to bring about those blessings for which pray.
