THE CATHOLIC WORKER FARM

THE CATHOLIC WORKER FARM

On June 23rd we were visited by Scott Albrecht and a volunteer helper, Rose, from The Catholic Worker Farm. It was truly inspiring to hear Scott speak of their work at the Farm, where he and his wife Maria and their sons share their home with up to 10 destitute women, failed asylum seekers who are not considered, by the state, to be entitled to either benefits or accommodation. We had invited Scott to call to tell us about their way of living the Gospel: “I was a stranger and you welcomed me into your house…”, and also to collect some needed food and clothing we had got together for them. The other great need is for volunteer workers to help the women in varied ways. If you are young, female, free, would like to do something worthwhile with your life, but do not feel called to make a permanent commitment, why not consider living with Scott and his household for a year or two?
